Today in Fort Collins (Sat, July 6)

Saturday July 6, 2013

Well, last night was fun! I made it to Wild Boar, Cranknstein, Bizarre Bazaar, the Artery, Hodi’s Half Note and the Friday night concert at the Old Town Square Stage, all in one night, and hung out with all sorts of interesting people. Will tonight be just as exciting?

Tonight’s Entertainment Offerings (that I know about so far):

Dee Tyler playing for Streetmosphere

Dee Tyler playing for Streetmosphere

Old Town- Streetmosphere, all day till 8:30pm, multiple locations in Old Town, plus additional performances in Front Range Village [multiple genres plus visual arts]

Equinox Brewing Co– Free Range Pickens, 6-8pm [Bluegrass/Newgrass/Folk]

Hodi’s Half Note– Hog McGundy & Switchman Sleepin – a Grateful Dead Tribute, 9pm-last call FREE show, All Ages [Bluegrass/Folk & Classic Rock]

Cranknstein- Punch Drunk Monkey Funk 9ish-close, FREE (not yet corroborated online, but this is who I was told will be playing at this venue tonight, when I asked the staff last night)

Road 34– Stacked Actors (Foo Fighters tribute show) with the Hate, $5, 21+ [Rock/Hard Rock/Metal]

Swing Station (Laporte)- 3 Twins Broadband, followed by the Robert Cline Jr. Band (with Cary Morin), $10.

Island Grill– Retro [80’s cover band] – this is one of the bands that played for last year’s 4th of July event, as well as a Lagoon Summer Concert Series show. I am pretty sure I saw their name on this year’s Lagoon series schedule, too, for that matter. I’m not normally into cover bands all that much, but this is a really good one.
