Review: Dancing on the Head of a Pen

9781400074358Dancing on the Head of a Pen, by Robert Benson, 5 stars

This lovely little book makes an excellent excuse to put off writing- after all, writers should read a few books on writing every year to hone their skills, right? Though, for such purposes this book may not be quite long enough; it doesn’t take more than a couple hours to read, and if you read fast it might not even take that long. Benson won’t tell you how to write your book, but he does provide some ideas as to how one might approach the challenges of the writing life. I’d recommend reading this book once all the way through, and then a second reading, a chapter at a time, with a notebook at hand to snare the passing inspirations.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
