A Book A Day #12 – The Velveteen Rabbit

The Velveteen Rabbit, by Margery Williams

1349956Here is one of the books I was sent by the book club that I mentioned in my post on Christine. The Velveteen Rabbit is about a boy and his stuffed rabbit. The lead character is actually the stuffed rabbit, which like Pinocchio wants to be a real rabbit, and is so rewarded. While this is a children’s story, it is also a story adults enjoy, and if you haven’t read it yet, this is a great book to check out. If you feel silly reading it all by yourself, maybe borrow a friend’s kid or go hang out at a hospital’s children’s ward where you can read this book to a child. It is a beautiful story, one that has embedded itself in the imaginations of several generations of children by now.
