There are only a few days left of 2013, so I am restraining myself from posting about too many new songs, albums and artists until the new year, so we can all digest some of the great music that has already been in the Ravenmount radar this year. Have you had a chance to check out all the songlists yet for 2013?
Well, there is one more 20-song playlist coming tomorrow, and then it is just year-end posts for the rest of the year- my favorite shows of 2013, my favorite new albums of 2013, etc. While I am agonizing over which shows, albums, songs and artists are in my top 10 for the year, I have made some interactive song checklists on a facebook app called Music List Challenges, which means that now you can check off the songs that you like/are familiar with/etc. The app is not one I designed, and maybe I need to learn how to make my own next year, but in the meantime, it’s still a fun toy if you like lists.
If you save your results the app will prompt you to share your results with all your friends, one of those details I dislike about the app, but if you click ‘cancel’ in the share window, your results still are saved without the app announcing your results on your facebook wall. Each song list has roughly 200 songs on it, so ten weeks’ worth of songs from the weekly 20-song lists. All of the songs on these lists were available on spotify when these lists were made.
And, if you want to listen to these giant songlists on spotify, here are links to these same songlists on spotify. It would be odd of most people liked all of the songs I post; I envision that most folks will add the songs they like to their own spotify playlists, but these playlists aren’t going anywhere, so those lovely people who like all of the songs on these lists are welcome to just listen to my playlists, as a sort of Ravenmount radio.
